The Townhouse

Once upon a time…

A girl started a blog. The girl was trying to buy a house and couldn’t find anything remotely helpful on the Internet that pointed her in the right direction. She so desperately wanted a house that every spare moment and penny she had was devoted to the dream of owning her own place. This is what The Townhouse was, an online diary of a girl saving to buy a home. Eventually the blog would become a helpful insight for first time buyers on the trials and triumphs of finally getting onto the property ladder. But this fairytale didn’t have a happy ending. The story continued on so long the girl grew bored of her dream and wasn’t sure it was what she wanted anymore.

And so, the blog changed. The Townhouse became a place to home the pretty things in life. For the girl had been so consumed with saving for a house that she was forgetting to enjoy life. All the beautiful things were passing her by and she thought what better place to keep them than in The Townhouse.

Now the girl is always on the move, not knowing her next location from one moment to the next. And so, the blog changed. The Townhouse is now a home away from home, that follows the princess of our story as she hunts out new adventures, travelling the world on the money she had saved for a house. It might seem frivolous to you, but she is now finally living life. The Townhouse is still full of all the beautiful things she loves, the inner monologues that often drive her crazy, and the dreams she is chasing, but it’s also the one place she can feel at home…no matter where she is.

This is certainly not the end of our story, but I’m sure there will be a happily ever after.

Until next time…

  1. Lovely Tilly! I was hooked by the end of the first paragraph. I have yet to do my ‘homework’ and it’s great to read others About posts for inspiration – by the way – I love to dance like no one’s watching too!
