The last few weeks I’ve done a lot of thinking. It was unfortunate that the most profound thoughts I had went unsaid. Alas, I believe that the best advice we give ourselves is that which we do not need to verbalise to others. Holding onto the pain and anger of a situation was only continuing to fuel my problem. Waiting for an acceptable apology or an explanation was futile. And, although I don’t feel like you can just wake up one day and no longer care, you can choose to invest your attention in something else. I won’t pretend it is easy. It’s not. However, I was recently reminded to “count your garden by the flowers, never by the leaves that fall” because after all, we have so many flowers.
